Trust your gut.
These three words have guided Sarah Hogan throughout her professional and personal life. Whether it was the decision to pull over on the side of the road to capture her first professional news story in 2003, or moving across the country not once, but twice, before making Colorado her home.
When the opportunity to build Barefoot PR arrived, Sarah trusted her gut and jumped in feet first (barefoot and all).
Sarah joined Barefoot PR with a vision of being true to herself through public relations and community investment. “I wanted to build a team and work with clients I not only trust, but am also challenged by every day.”
Sarah built an agency that “works on heart. At the end of the day, it’s about producing the best possible product for the client. That’s the Barefoot Way.”
Sarah’s path to a career in Public Relations started early. She has many memories of trailing her dad – a former television executive – around TV stations throughout the Midwest. Sarah pursued her passion for communications in college and graduated from the University of South Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications – Public Relations. Sarah is known for digging into the strategy of public relations and creating a clear and concise message.
Originally from Wisconsin, Sarah has made Colorado her home. She believes in being an active community member, currently serving as the Vice President for the Denver Philharmonic Orchestra (a community orchestra dedicated to redefining the way metro Denver experiences and engages with classical music). Sarah is also a past board member and former chair for The Delores Project (Denver’s largest overnight shelter for unaccompanied women) and helped to found Behind the Red, an active professionals group for the American Red Cross Mile High Chapter. Sarah is a graduate of the CBCA Leadership Arts program and helped found the Cultural Leadership Award for alumni of the program. In her free time, Sarah is an amateur pastry chef – whipping up cookies, cakes and other sweet treats in her home kitchen, and is addicted to reality TV.
Like the element of water, Sarah’s creativity and passion cannot be contained. “I don’t like to have boundaries at what I can explore. I love learning new things and investigating different techniques that can enhance an organization in a positive way.”
